What if everything was little and blue? Imagine. A little blue house, a little blue car, a little blue television, a little blue sofa, little blue fruits and vegetables, little blue cookies...

This book can either be used as a bilingual, a bedtime or an interactive storytelling book.
Bilingual book. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn many new words in another language while having fun.

Bedtime story. After the first reading, the story will rapidly become familiar and fun to your child. The repeated nature of the new words and actions in the story will encourage them to join in. The new words to emphasise all appear in capital letters. Showing actions while telling the story is part of the fun too. For example, pretend driving a car or biting an apple, display a surprised or a sad face, etc. Actions make it easier for a child to remember the story and help bring it to life. Let your child finish the pages out loud too. At some point, they will learn the words by heart and end up saying the story word for word with you!

Interactive story. It is essential to explain each page to your child to help them to make sense of the story. Guide them and ask them to make a drawing after each page. Let your child’s imagination do the rest!

First episode of the series. This book is different from other children’s books, since its aim is to get children to make drawings from the story. After each paragraph, the adult will be able to guide the child into drawing the story on the opposite page. The child is then free to imagine and recreate the story. This book was conceived with the idea of bringing more interactivity between the adult and the child. The adult should stop after each paragraph, help the child understand the meaning of the paragraph and finally guide the drawing. The child’s imagination will do the rest!

"The Book of the Animals is a planned series of illustrated books for young children. [...] These delightful books tell the story of what happens when the animals in the stories, like many young children, don’t want to eat and don’t want to wash...
The books are very suitable both for reading to young children and for older children to use to learn to read in both languages. They might even persuade them to wash and eat their dinner!
The repetitive structure is supportive of children learning new words and the illustrations work well alongside the text to help understanding of unfamiliar words.
I can easily imagine young children demanding repeat readings and enjoying learning the text by heart as many children do with favourite stories. Children learning to make up and write their own stories might well want to write a personalised version, using the structure as a prop.
I think the stories would work well both in the home and in the classroom."
