Jess C Scott, December 2011

Synopsis

Summary: A short story on global consciousness and spiritual democracy as we enter the New Age (which begins in 2012, on the last day of the Mayan Long Count calendar). Welcome to the Age of Aquarius. Genre: Short Story / Personal Essay | 5,550 Words * * * "In 2012, according to the Mayan calendar...[it comes] to an end on December 21, 2012. So, lots of people are expecting something to happen. Edgar Cayce [one of America's greatest psychics] talked about how we'd enter into a New Age that would be known for three things: purity, global consciousness, and a height of spiritual consciousness that we have yet to encounter." -- 2012: The New Aquarian Age | edgarcayce.org * * * Emails: "Jess: as we all know, you are a very talented writer. On my request, please describe all these in one line as you think--Jess C Scott, Old Man, Old Lady, Young Woman, God, Marriage, Evil, Gentleman, Woman Fantasy, Adult, Pleasure (Sexuality, Spirituality). Go for these and I wish you a lovely future." -- reader/customer email, Nov 2011 Excerpt: Many others have reached a point where they can't see any point whatsoever with religion. One of my guy friends (who also attended that church camp) proudly lists his religious beliefs on Facebook as "Atheist." "C'mon, change yours too," he was egging some of us on the other day. "We need more people to make it clear that the Age of Christianity is past!" When I asked him what he meant about "the Age of Christianity," he said it was something related to astrology and the Mayan calendar that ends in 2012. "It's this popular and sensationalized thing that the world is going to end in 2012," he explained, "though actually, what the Mayans meant with the 2012 date was that their current era was going to end. Each 'era' lasts about 2,000 years--2012 will bring on the Age of Aquarius." Author Bio: Jess C Scott is an author/artist/non-conformist who's dedicated to writing original stories that are both meaningful and entertaining. Jess writes in a diverse range of genres such as urban fantasy, erotic/contemporary fiction, YA fiction, poetry, and cyberpunk. She focuses on substance over short-term success with current fads and marketing hype :)
