CÓRDOBA es la crónica de tres viajes que el escritor barcelonés Antonio Gálvez Alcaide realizó, en abril de 2009, motivado por la búsqueda de los olores, de los paisajes, de las gentes cercanas a su ascendencia. Dejemos que lo exprese él mismo: «Tanta ciudad medieval como he visitado, junto al vapor razonado de la literatura, y la imagen que poseo de Córdoba proviene de mis ojos de niño, de cuando tenía diez años de edad. La provincia de Córdoba es el lugar de mi ascendencia, el lugar que me hubiera tocado mamar si mis padres no se hubieran apuntado a la emigración masiva que se produjo hace medio siglo. Sé que si le digo a alguien que voy a utilizar la ciudad de Córdoba como mera ciudad dormitorio, pensará que soy un tipo despreciativo, insensible, ya que Córdoba es una joya histórica, cultural, arquitectónica. He de decir, sin temor a equivocarme demasiado, que lo más importante que se manifiesta en Córdoba lo viví a la tierna edad de diez años. Incluso viví los coños negros que pintó Julio Romero de Torres. El motivo de mi viaje a Córdoba es la periferia: Aguilar de la Frontera, mi ascendencia por parte de madre; y La Victoria, mi ascendencia por parte de padre. Ahí está la clave, la sensación de cambio, la diferencia sensorial de unos ojos de niño con unos ojos de hombre».
