This article describes the events that led Donald Trump to sue Bill Maher for $5 million. In January 2013 on the Tonight Show, Maher offered to pay The Donald $5 million if he would provide proof that his father was not an orangutan. Trump promptly provided the proof and demanded his money, but Maher refused to pay. So Trump filed suit. Now a California Court will have to decide whether Maher was only joking, or whether his on-air statement was a legally binding offer. [Article: 1,560 words]
