This is the story of a seemingly innocent little boy who grows into a ferocious, conscienceless, ugly monster that destroys and devours everything good and pure that crosses his path. From tender childhood friendships to sweet innocent romances, nothing is immune to the monster's dark spell and insidious nature. This is also a story of survival and hope: survival of intimate partner abuse and hope that one day there will be an end to domestic violence and to the suffering of the silent victims. Paula Carrasquillo lives and works in the Washington, D.C. area. She loves her family. She loves to read. She loves to practice Bikram yoga for her physical and emotional well being. She believes we all have obstacles and challenges in our lives, and life dishes out only what we can handle. “Every experience can change us for good or bad, better or worse; it is up to each of us to choose.” Paula is currently working on her next book to be released in early 2013.
