FALLEN ANGELS

"Fallen Angels" is a term that describes those who have fallen from grace. One such man is private investigator, Joe Lane. His life has been haunted by the savage rape and murder of his daughter. The events of the crime are relived in his memories and nightmares. These nightmares bring visions to him. The visions help Lane in his various investigations. The bits and pieces of information appear in his visions like puzzle pieces. Lane must solve the puzzle, learn the truth, and survive the outcome. The only control he has over his visions is to limit their frequency with the consumption of alcohol. It is the only way to retain his sanity in the mire of his paranoia. But to Lane, paranoia is just another word for heighten awareness. Four years after his daughter"s death, Lane is hired to locate a missing person, working as an exotic dancer, under the name of Angel. Lane finds Angel and is seduced by her. Later, when she is found murdered, Lane becomes the prime suspect for investigation. During the investigation, Lane discovers that another exotic dancer"s death may be linked with Angel"s. To further complicate matters, a man recently released from prison is seeking revenge on Lane. Fallen Angels unfolds the mystery of the deaths for the reader as it is made clear to the private investigator, making it intriguing and satisfying to the reader"s sense of sleuth. R.J. MacCurry is a retired sergeant with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department in North Carolina. Included in Sergeant MacCurry's law enforcement career are almost eight years as an undercover detective, assigned to the Special Operations Division in the Department. During this time, R.J. MacCurry completed over 2000 investigations. R.J. MacCurry has a B.S. degree in Psychology and Sociology. MacCurry's career as a criminal investigator and life experiences are injected into the writing of this suspense novel, Fallen Angels , and introduces the reader to the dark world of sex and murder that is usually only visible to those who walk in the darkness. MacCurry, is a well-written detective novella or story about vengeance and retribution which involves PI Joe Lane, a former Sheriff, who is set-up as fall-man for a young stripper's death. His own daughter had been previously murdered with some similar details. The story has a good mix of liquor, tobacco, car chase, stabbing, shooting, friendship, sex and more sex to keep the reader attentive. Helpful was the author's career as criminal investigator. The cover once opened -- this is one book not easily put down until the last page is read! Just as women are wont to read 'romance' novels, this would be the male indulgence. The book is forceful, concise and can be recommended for adults young and old, and for both sexes. I look forward to more books by MacCurry
