About The Series: “Jumpstart the Divemaster in You” Booklets
This series of 7 booklets (or 2 value priced boxed sets) is aimed at the new diver or the diver that has been away from the sport for an extended period of time and needs a refresher. Each booklet is full of practical and easy to follow tips that are designed to improve specific dive skills, increase the divers confidence and allow the diver to get the most out of his/her diving.
Each booklet is written in plain English and is not simply a rehash of what is taught in scuba certification class. Instead, these booklets are the 100% practical real life side of diving. The author relates many real life stories throughout all the booklets and tells what she has observed and learned during her diving career. Her conversational way of writing makes it easy to learn from her experiences - and her mistakes. It's like having a down-to-earth friend give pointers, answer questions and offer advice that you can easily relate to - because the author has been in your position.
About The Booklet: Jumpstart the Divemaster in You - Tips to Clear Your Ears And More
(30 printed pages; 12,707 words)
If you ever had problems clearing your ears when you are diving, you know how frustrating it can be. You jump in, get the good to descend sign from the divemaster and you start to go down. Then you feel it. The dreaded pain in your ears.
This first part of this booklet will show you how to get your ears to "pop" quickly and painlessly with simple to follow ear equalization techniques that you can try at home to see what works best for you. Everyone is different and what might work for one diver, may not work for the next diver. That's why there are several different methods presented for you to try on your next dive.
This is a straight forward user-friendly report full of easy to follow tips and techniques that will help you got those ears cleared and let you descend with the rest of the dive group.
In this booklet you will discover:
•one technique to help equalization problems that no one seems to know about
•five methods to use to try and clear your ears
•the single most important step to descending without ear problems
•the proper position to descend that will help with clearing your ears
•what to do if you have a cold - and what NOT to do
In Part #2 of this booklet you will find all the tips you need for having safe descents and ascents - two aspects of a dive that may seem deceptively simple. But not so fast. There are some things you need to consider before you even start to descend and start clearing your ears. This section also covers all the information you need to know to get to the surface safely - one of the most important periods of any dive.
Once you are safely down, you need to know how to get around. Part #3 of this booklet covers underwater navigation tips so you will never find yourself back on the wrong dive boat. You will learn how to navigate underwater using simple methods that you can implement on your next dive.
And, lastly, a bonus section on dive etiquette is included in all the "Jumpstart" booklets. We all need to be considerate divers and continue to protect what we are all going to see underwater. And, let's face it, nothing can ruin a dive faster than some inconsiderate divers. Once you read this bonus section, you know you will never be one of those divers that gets the dirty look from other divers. (Booklet total: 12,707 words)
