'No hay fotografías que puedan ser negadas. Todas las fotografías poseen categoría de realidad. Lo que ha de examinarse es de qué modo la fotografía puede o no dar significado a los hechos.' Combinando la visión moral del crítico con la práctica del fotógrafo, Berger y Mohr han producido una obra que amplía las fronteras de un campo de la crítica que antes abordaron Walter Benjamin, Roland Barthes y Susan Sontag.
