Caring for ducks at home is not so unusual. For many years, many families keep ducks in their backyards either as a source for food or to add to the household income.
Duck meat and duck eggs are very nutritious and can enhance your family’s daily diet. You can also sell fresh duck meat and eggs to farmer’s markets nearby and make a decent profit. You can also learn to breed them and raise large flocks for a big-time duck farming business.
Ducks are a bit more delicate than cats or dogs. So, if you plan on buying a duck or a duckling and keeping them as pets or raise small flocks to earn money from them, then you need to understand how to care for them properly.
The most important fact the new duck owner needs to know is that good nutrition is critical for keeping your ducks healthy. The amount of protein is important to every stage growth. Too much and too little protein can cause nutritional deficiencies and serious health problems. Whatever you feed ducks will affect the quality of their meat and eggs and the rate they lay eggs.
There are other critical details to know about raising ducks on your own and this book is an excellent tool that will provide you with that. As a new duck owner, you will need a guide where the basics are simplified for you so you can easily understand what to feed ducks, how to care for a sick duck, how to buy ducks and choose a breed plus all the other basic instructions you need so you can give quality duck care to your ducks.
