A lady of high station is saved from scandal, and a mysterious death is explained. The authorities are satisfied and the case is closed, but there remains a loose end, and a disturbing possibility associated with it, that cannot be explained..
Sherlock Holmes is not satisfied, and directs Doctor Watson not to publish the case until "a hundred years after my death, when much that is a mystery now, will be clear as crystal." The case was written up, and buried deep in the Bank of England's vault. Over the course of two world wars it became lost.
Recently the mysterious lost case of "Sherlock Holmes and the Alien Abduction" was found, and coming into my hands, I resolved to publish it. When you learn aboutt the loose end, and the disturbing possibility associated with it, you will understand why Sherlock Holmes refused to have it published.
Although this case exhibits Sherlock Holmes's astonishing abilities of observation and logical reasoning to the greatest degree, it never pleased him. Read the case of "Sherlock Holmes and the Alien Abduction" and see why.
