Glenn Darcy hates the moonshiner life and never wanted to be a part of it. However, circumstances force him into the life he despises. He wants only to play his dobro guitar which he does with brilliance. His solitary performances on a ridge overlooking a bubbling stream are observed by a strange elfin girl with pale hair. Is she an enemy? A friend? More than a friend?
He discovers that she is a Martin, a member of the clan who seeks to destroy Glenn and his entire family. The law will not help. Dade Martin is the sheriff and the law in the hills. Plus Glen has been forced into a life on the other side of the law.
A final showdown reveals some surprising facts as the conflict boils up to a violent conclusion.
