MIKE SERBINIS

Chief Executive Officer

Mike's vision for an open, global eReading service was the inspiration for Kobo. In 2008, Mike became the president of Indigo Books & Music's digital venture Shortcovers, which was spun out of Indigo and rebranded as Kobo in December 2009.

Mike was the founder and chief technology officer of DocSpace, a B2B Web service that enables teams to collaborate in a secure environment from anywhere in the world. In 2000, DocSpace was sold to Critical Path for $580 million, while Michael remained on as the CTO and EVP Marketing. Michael joined the Indigo team in 2006, taking the reigns as EVP and CIO, and grew into his current position as the President of Kobo.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Queens University and a Masters of Science degree in Financial Engineering from the University of Toronto.

TODD HUMPHREY

EVP, Business Development

Todd brings with him to Kobo more than fifteen years of experience in senior executive roles for successful technology companies. Most recently, he held the position of Director of Business Development at Amazon.com. In 2005, Todd was hired as the CEO of CleverSet, an ecommerce services company, which he grew from a 5-person startup through its acquisition by ATG (NASDAQ: ARTG) in 2008, after acquisition Todd remained on as VP, Personalization. Prior to CleverSet, Todd spent three years leading the business development efforts for two online education companies, Apex Learning and Jones Knowledge. Todd has also worked with two venture capital firms where he was responsible for evaluating and investing in early-stage companies.

Todd holds a BA from the University of Western Ontario.

DAN LEIBU

Chief Technology Officer

Dan brings more than fifteen years of information technology experience to his role as CTO of Kobo, where he is responsible for information technology and customer experience. Dan started his career as chief architect for DocSpace, an Internet based document management platform, where he was responsible for the design of all technology solutions. From there, Dan served as vice president of hosted solutions at Critical Path, leading the technology team that developed a hosted messaging platform used by Telco's and enterprises worldwide. In May 2006, Dan joined Indigo as the vice president of strategy where he was responsible for Indigo's IT strategy & architecture and for the implementation of Indigo's Project Management Office.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, from Concordia University in Montréal.

GREG TWINNEY

Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer

Greg has over 15 years of experience working in senior financial and operational roles for successful, rapid growth organizations. At Kobo Greg is responsible for all financial, operational and administrative aspects of the company. Greg joined Kobo from Opalis Software Inc., where he was CFO for the high-growth, venture-backed software company that was successfully acquired by Microsoft in 2009. Prior to Opalis, Greg was with Cyberplex (TSX: CX), a leading publicly-traded technology firm, where he spent five years as Corporate Controller. Prior to Cyberplex, Greg held senior positions with Tokmakjian Limited, a large, privately-held, global organization where he was responsible for all accounting and administrative aspects of the company's international division from its conception to $100 million in revenue, becoming the leading, most profitable division in the organization.

Greg is a Certified General Accountant (CGA), has a Business Administration Diploma from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology, and holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science Degree (BAccS) from the University of Calgary.

MICHAEL TAMBLYN

EVP Content, Sales & Merchandising

At Kobo Michael is responsible for sales, publisher and industry relations, content acquisition, and the merchandising experience across all of Kobo's web and mobile services. He co-founded Canada's first online bookstore Bookshelf.ca, which was purchased by Indigo Books & Music in 1998, where he served as vice president of online operations. Most recently, Michael was the founding CEO of the supply chain agency BookNet Canada, where he launched the national sales reporting service BNC SalesData and authored the publishing technology call-to-arms, "Six Projects That Could Change Publishing for the Better."

Michael has a Masters in Business Administration from University of Western Ontario.

MATTHEW WELCH

General Manager

Matthew is responsible for content sales and the consumer experience, including marketing and customer care. Matthew was previously CEO of a UK-based mobile gaming company and CMO of match.com International, responsible for marketing in 33 countries globally. During his tenure, match.com became the #1 dating site globally. He began his career working for New York advertising agencies Ogilvy & Mather, Young & Rubicam, and Ammirati & Puris, where he ran global marketing campaigns for Kodak, BMW/Mini, RCA and Kraft General Foods. In his past, he has also served as Vice President of Marketing at Madison Square Garden.

Matthew is a graduate of Harvard Business School and Georgetown University.
